    Thank you for the response. I will add more to this when I have time. A few authors that I read have written very good descriptions of fascism. You could call it fascism by numbers. America is clearly moving down this path.

    The S&L scandal was easier to contain than this current crisis. S&Ls already failed and their assets had a clear value. The bad paper that the Government is currently buying has no clear value and the odds are that the Government is paying more than it should. I believe Mike Whitney has written that some of the paper is really worth 5 cents on the dollar but I’ve heard people talk about the US giving 30 or more cents on the dollar. If this happens then the US will effectively go bankrupt when inflation hits and interest rates rise. We live in very dangerous times.

    After I get somethings dong around here I’ll add the Mussolini quote.
